The Last Soldier to Give His Life

Master Corporal Byron Greff, 3rd Battalion, PPCLI; Paratrooper, Reconnaissance Platoon, was the 158th Canadian casualty in Afghanistan, the last Canadian to be killed in the conflict.

M. Cpl. Greff left behind his wife Lindsay, his children Kellar and Brielle; his mom and dad Candace and Greg, his brother Dustin and sister Chelsey.

We wanted to bring to your attention that Lacombe Legion Member Arnie MacAskill has launched a letter-writing campaign to name M. Cpl Greff's mother, Candace Greff, as the 2017 National Silver Cross Mother.

The Silver Cross, or Memorial Cross, is awarded to mothers and widows of Canadians killed in active duty,

A Silver Cross Mother is chosen each year by the Royal Canadian Legion to lay a wreath during the Remembrance Day ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa on behalf of all mothers who have lost children in the service of their country.

Since it's inception, our business has been founded on the principal of giving back to the military community that has given so much for us throughout our 150 year history.

I strongly encourage you to stand with us at War Doll and send a letter recommending the nomination of Candace Greff as Silver Cross mother.

Below you will find a draft letter - simply copy and paste the letter into your email, add your name to required spot and send it to amacaskill@telus.net

This letter campaign ends on Friday, 21 APRIL 17, so be sure to send it off today.

It will only take a moment of your time, but will make the world of difference to a mother whose son gave his life for this country.

From all of us at War Doll, thank you for standing with us in support of our Veterans.
